A shaggy barked Creeping Hydrangea bonsai evokes a sense of being deep in the woods of a lowland forest as you stumble across an abandoned logging camp. The skateboard, with a black and white photograph of a sprawling forest is a modern presentation of a traditional scene depicted in Asian art. The display stands, for both the bonsai and accent plant, reinforce this idea of using found materials, such as old saw blades, to create a display.
